AOptix Technologies is the
recipient of a 2008 North American Frost & Sullivan
Award for Technology Innovation in the field of non-invasive biometrics.
This selection for Best Practices recognizes the significance of the company's
innovation in advancing iris recognition  biometrics.
The award highlights the application
of AOptix Technologies' adaptive optics technology to solving
the fundamental challenge in iris biometrics,
which is to greatly improve usability,
or subject human factors, of the imaging system.
Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Deepa Rangarajan stated
that this innovation is "an iris imaging solution that
allows for far superior and convenient biometric
recognition. AOptix has introduced the ability to
automatically find and then accurately identify a
subject’s iris at a 2 meter stand-off distance with minimal subject participation."

AOptix Technologies Commercial Lasercom division
won two technology awards at the 2008 National Association
of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas in April. TV Technology magazine’s “2008 STAR” (Superior Technology Award Recipient) and prestigious “Mario Award” recognized
the company's technology innovation and excellence in a forward-thinking product.
 AOptix
Technologies' LCT-5 Lasercom product demonstrated the
capabilities of an ultra-high bandwidth broadcast system
in a live demo – right from our booth on the show floor.
Transmission of several live, simultaneous, uncompressed data feeds showcased dense wave division multiplexing (DWDM) over a single 10 Gbps lasercom link.
Formats included HD-SDI, SD-HDI, audio, comms, and
serial protocols.
