 The LCT-5 Lasercom Terminal
The AOptix broadcast lasercom system includes the LCT-5 terminal and interface I/O chassis to provide a plug-and-play, bi-directional solution that is changing the way you will design your remote HD broadcast networks. The LCT-5 is the only wireless solution that can deliver single or multiple uncompressed high-resolution or high-frame-rate camera feeds over several kilometers in distance.
With its easy-to-use, web-based graphical user interface and automated acquisition alignment and tracking functionality, non-specialized field personnel can install and operate the system in minutes. On-board link quality diagnostics provide the operator with valuable control information through a standard laptop.
The AOptix LCT-5 supports bi-directional video, audio, Ethernet, intercom and graphics—including embedded return video, audio and controls back to the camera operator.
Man-Portable, Battery-Powered
The LCT-5 can be either AC or DC powered. The uniquely controlled laser beam consumes minimal power, so the LCT-5 can operate eight hours on a single battery charge. This groundbreaking system is man-portable, rugged and completely waterproof.
The system is fully compatible with standard tripods. AOptix lasercom terminals are also available with tripods that include electronically articulated gimbals for automated alignment and acquisition on various platforms including scaffolds, mobile towers or building rooftops.
Interface I/O Chassis
This rack-mountable unit holds multiple interface converter modules and redundant power supplies.
It also includes gain-flattened erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs), automatic gain control (AGC), dense-wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) and intelligent control circuitry necessary to interface with standard broadcast equipment.
The modular hot-swap design allows you to insert or remove optional modules to change the input/output configuration as needed with:
- HDTV uncompressed to 1.5 Gbps
- HD and SD compressed to 270 Mbps
- Gigabit Ethernet transceiver
- 8 or 16 channel AES audio, Dolby® E
- 8 or 16 channel RTS intercom transceiver
- Additional cards available on request
