AOptix Two Meter Cooperative Iris Recognition System
The AOptix iris recognition system is a fully automated iris biometric capture system that operates at a two-meter nominal stand-off distance, providing a flexible and non-intrusive working space.
Large Capture Volume
Key to the system’s advanced human factors is the very large capture volume of approximately one cubic meter. Virtually all subjects—tall, short and in wheelchairs—merely need to enter into the volume and look at the imaging system.
Effortless Subject Participation
The AOptix system automatically locates the subject and captures iris biometric images, which are then sent to an encoding algorithm for processing, either on-board the system or on a networked server.
Very Fast System
There are three steps in the capture process:
- Find the face
- Lock in on the subject’s eyes with Adaptive Optics
- Capture pristine iris images
Capture will consume only about one second for a single eye under normal circumstances, and about two seconds for a two-eye enrollment procedure.
On-Board System Illumination
Operating at a nominal 850 nm wavelength in the infrared spectrum, the industry standard, illumination from light emitting diodes (LEDs) conforms to international eye safety regulations as defined in IEC 63471.
Images Interoperable with Other Iris Cameras
- The AOptix system is compatible with legacy databases or mixed camera deployments.
Form Factor
The form factor is 21 x 14 x 7 inches. All components are self-contained, so the only external connections are for power, and device and network connectivity. The system supports Ethernet, RS485 and Wiegand interfaces, such as those found on Physical Access Control Systems (PACS). The unit weighs approximately 25 lbs (11kg), and will operate in normal outdoor, shaded environments.
The system is intended for either wall or pole mounting configurations, permitting flexible installation choices to suit specific customer needs. Wall and pole mounting hardware and cable shrouds are available for system designers and installers.
